For individuals and groups interested in helping to meet the needs of Lutheran Blind Mission, here are some suggestions for involvement.

  1. From Pastor Dave:
The mission of LBM is to help blind people see Jesus. This does not take eyes of flesh but eyes of faith.
Then Jesus told him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed." John 20:29. Please pray with me...
Dear Jesus, Thank you for seeing not just our sin, but our need. Thank you for coming, dying in our place so that you might forgive us. Use me to be your hands, feet and voice so that people, especially those who do not see physically, might see you through eyes of faith. Amen.
  2. Your financial support. After decades of support from the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, we are now on our own to find the funds needed to sustain and grow this ministry. Your donations and volunteer support are enthusiastically welcome. Click here to donate now or call toll free 1-888-215-2455
  3. Donate Your Car to Lutheran Blind Mission
Are you thinking of selling or trading in that old car, truck, boat, trailer, or RV? Know someone who is? Why not donate it instead? As a charitable contribution your donation could make a big difference!
Donate your used vehicle to Lutheran Blind Mission and help blind people see Jesus! We'll arrange to have your vehicle picked up at no charge by a professionally licensed, bonded, and insured towing company. We accept most vehicles, even if they don't run, in all 50 states. Arrangements will be made within four days to conveniently and quickly pick-up your vehicle donation at no cost to you. It's easy and convenient, and you may be eligible to receive a charitable contribution deduction on your itemized federal tax return. Consult your tax advisor. Fill out our Online Vehicle Donation form, or call Lutheran Blind Mission at 1-888-215-2455 to donate your vehicle or for more information.

  4. Church Resources
Please consider using the information in the following links to bring our ministry message to your congregation. (Microsoft Word format)

  5. Search the Web with Google from our site
When you do your normal Web searches by using the Google form on this page and our Home page, the advertising revenue generated by the search results pages are shared by Google.com and Lutheran Blind Mission. Do all your Google searches from our site!
  6. Proofreading books for braille translation. The first step in the translation process is retyping a book using a computer. After a typist has finished a book, it is printed and proofread by sighted persons for typographical errors, missed punctuation, missing words, etc. This proofreading is done with partners—one person reading from the book and the other following along in the typed manuscript and making corrections. (After it is translated into braille, it goes to a blind proofreader.)
  7. Recording cassette tapes. If you have a cassette recorder, you can read books or devotional magazines on tape. This can be done from your own home or from a studio in your area.
  8. Volunteering at our St. Louis facility. We would really appreciate your help with answering the phone, assisting with the preparation of materials to be mailed, taking boxes to the Post Office, shelving Braille books and audiocassettes and some short term special projects.
