The Christian Blind Institute

Why Start an Institute for Blind People?
It is rather hard to be a truck driver if you do not have a driver's license, a truck or eyesight to drive it.

It is rather hard to be a leader in a church if you do not have the training, the acquired skills needed to do the task or a church in which to worship. It is rather hard for blind people to get the training due to no braille, difficulty traveling and shortage of money to go away to school. It can be equally troublesome finding or developing a community that is friendly and understanding to blind and visually impaired people.

Unlike truck driving, being an active person in Jesus' church is possible for blind people to do. A Christian Blind Institute was established by the Lutheran Blind Mission Society (LBMS) to overcome these problems. LBMS seeks to encourage, train and support blind and visually impaired people to be missionaries for Jesus especially to the blind and visually impaired.
